The Council Of Dort Hasn't Happened Until After Luther Said This, But Luther, Who Believes God Is A Group Thinker, Choosing Some Rejecting The Rest Is Unknowingly Describing His Own Future Calvinists. This Calvinist Council Killed Some Free Willers As The Catholics Did The First Reformers.

Seems His Description Of The Jews Is A Description Of His Group Of Group Thinkers As Well.

Then The Lord Chooses 'The Foolish' (1 Corinthians 2) Not Only To Replace The Replacement Theologians But To Confound (Perplex, Confuse, Refute, To Put To Shame,) The Wise, By Just Believing What God Says.

Notice, That Turning From The Jews To The Gentiles Wasn't A Turning From One Group To Another (Jew To Gentile) But From Group Think and Preference To Whosoever Will. (Compare Matthew 10:5ff, Galatians 2:8,9 With Romans 3, Acts 15)

In Verse One Of Chapter Fourteen Individual Jews And Gentiles Were Getting Saved.

The Jews Confused God's Side-Choosing , With Their Side-Believing, And The End Result Was Their Undoing.

Calvinists Think They Are Irresistably Chosen By God, Despite Their Free Response.

Nowhere In Scripture Does It Show That Believers Are Irresistably Chosen, Exclusive Of Their Response.

That May Have Been True When Christ Went To The "Lost House Of Israel' But Now:

12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: 16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" 16 But we have the mind of Christ.' Jesus Here Made The Actions Of These 'Chosen People' An Example That Choosing Is Two Sided.

Some Think That Because The Jews Are God's Chosen People That They Are Not Required To Believe In Christ To Be Saved.

God's Gifts And Call On The Jew Is Irrevocable And We Cannot Replace Israel With The Church. (Romans 11)

However, Their Destiny Has Been Delayed Because They Thought They Were Chosen To Rest On Their Blessed Assurances While Thanking God They Weren't Like The Gentiles, When Actually They Were Chosen To Be Lights To The Gentiles And Lead The Way.

What We Learn From History Is That We Learn Very Little From His-Story.

Being Chosen Here Didn't Replace The Need To Believe.

This Is What Paul Says To Those That Think This Way:

"You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. 22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off." (Romans 9)

Over And Over, Groups Claim Special Favor With God, Rest On Their Laurels, Pontificate From Their Lecterns And Pulpits, Condescend (In A Negative Sense), To Those Of Lower Estate, Claim How Uninformed Everyone Else Is Because They Didn't Read The Books They Did.

One Or A Whole Group Of Folks Can Create The Environment That Preserves This Illusion Of Invulnerability.

One That Spends Most Of His Time Lecturing Students In An Environment Where Students Are Pressured to Suck Up Or Agree The More They Will Never Be Challenged to Come Out Of their Comfort Zones.

18 do not boast over those branches. Who Are These Unschooled Uneducated Men To Tell Us What The Truth Is?

They Confuse Intellectual Capacity With Spiritual Receptivity.

"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say." (Acts 4)

Unschooled Ordinary Men Who Had Been With Jesus, That's All You Really Need.

Nothing Can Replace A Desire To Be With Christ And Learn Of Him.

"So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. 16 "What are we going to do with these men?" they asked. "Everybody living in Jerusalem knows they have done an outstanding miracle, and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn these men to speak no longer to anyone in this name." 18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. 20 For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." 21 After further threats they let them go. It Seems That Gamaliel Was The Only Rational Person Here, But It Didn't Stop The Sanhedrin From Flogging The Apostles And Commanding Them To Not Speak Of Jesus.

"The term "whosoever" in John 3:16 can literally be translated "everyone who believes" or "all who believe." "Whosoever" is also an accurate rendering of the term. Imagine a generous candy man standing on the street corner passing out free candy and saying, "Boys and girls, Come! Everyone who receives a piece of candy will also receive a free balloon." Regardless of the response of the children, would not this be a universal offer to all the boys and girls? No one hearing this invitation would be excluded. He could have said, "Whosoever receives a piece of candy will also receive a free balloon" and the meaning would have been the same."

I Think Condemning A Person Because They Haven't Read A Particular Work Or They Are Not Of Your Particular Clique, Is Probably Stereotyping Not To Mention, Arrogant.

My Particular Views Of Any Group That Consider Themselves The Elect Is That It Fosters Apathy And Condescension, Be It Calvinists, Free Willers, Etc.

The Group That Cried, 'Crucify Him' Wasn't Just Those That Wanted To Crucify Him But Those That Were Either Swayed By The Mob Mentality Or Just Too Timid To Stand For Their Lord.

Or 'The Person You Quote Couldn't Have Possibly Said That Because It Was So Hateful.'

Or, 'They Must Have Had A Bad Childhood, So We Should Treat Them As Victims.'

We Are Created In God's Image.

That Image Was Not Images, But The Persons Of The Godhead Agreed To Make Man In Their Image.

In This Is Our Capacity To Think, Will And Act, And God's Drawing Is To Enable Us To Choose Freely.

Being Gods Chosen People Is To Be Chosen For Something. It Is Not A Position But A Function.
