The Reformation Continues
John Huss, John Wycliffe, and Martin Luther were only a few of the heroes that championed
the reformation. They endured great persecution for getting the Bible into a language that every person could understand.
They believed that the individual under God could and should with the help of the Holy Spirit, understand and apply the truths
contained therein. Numerous efforts had been used by the Religious Hierarchy to subvert this God given responsibility. Some
strategies used were trying to convince the individual that the scriptures should only be interpreted by the Elite. This is
still going on today. Another tactic today is specializing and separating the church into people groups, where there is no
possibility of functioning as interdependent individuals anymore.
Another tactic is delegating all the meaningful
work to the so-called specialists thereby creating even more separation. It is ironic that Christ came and died to break down
the barriers between Jew and Gentile, which includes all the subgroups of people as well, creating ONE NEW MAN. (Ephesians
2:14-16) Then the church comes along and builds new walls to put the individual right back into segregated groups again. It
is part of my calling to help keep the reformation going by speaking out against these kind of modern day attacks on the the
individual under God.
